People in Michigan call the Upper Peninsula the U.P.  It’s kinda got a ring to like the O.C.  And like the OC you could totally make a reality show about it with tons of drama except less people and more bears fighting moose and the people you would see were families on vactaion with fanny packs and tee shirts tucked into their shorts. 

I personally call the UP the “Mutant Dolphin” b/c it totally looks like that on the map.  I don’t know how the dolphin even started swimming in fresh water or how it mutated espcially b/c Lake Superior is beautiful and totally clean.  Prolly b/c I didn’t see any really industrial city’s taking a chemical poop in the thing.  Alright!

While I first got the superior lake the clouds came over something gnarly.  It was cool and I took pictures, nuff said.

I then went to the painted cliffs state park b/c some people I met back in lower MI suggested and but mostly b/c the billboards for the things said they were featured in a Kid Rock video.  Oh, you know I gotta go see everything I can that is associated with this timeless musical legend.  Ha!

The water of the lake is super clear and crystal.  The cliffs almost remind me of something I’d see on a cruise minus my brothers being drunk and hillarious and me being able to eat all the ice cream I want.
